COUNCIL bosses have welcomed plans for a £2.5m velodrome to serve East Lancashire.
On Friday, the Lancashire Telegraph reported that Barnoldswick-based bike manufacturing company Hope Technology had been in talks with council planners about the new facility.
Pendle Council deputy chief executive Philip Mousdale said: “We would welcome such a prestigious facility. Cycling is booming thanks to athletes like Pendle’s Olympic gold medallist, Steven Burke and Sir Bradley Wiggins.”
