SUPERFAST broadband will be rolled out in the Ribble Valley from July as part of seven phases across East Lancashire.
Phase one of the project, which is being led by BT, will include Chatburn and Leyland.
The borough council have said that the upgrade of the network will help 355 businesses in the area and that upload speeds in particular will see a marked improvement.
They have also said that smaller businesses will also benefit through job creation and expansion as a result of the scheme. The exact timescales are still to be confirmed.
Residents and users can access www.superfastlancashire.com to keep up-to-date on the rollout plans. The project is set to be completed in 2015.
