CHARITIES and not-for-profit groups in Darwen are being urged to make a difference to global poverty.
Groups can make plans to help the world’s neediest people over the next few weeks with bids for money from a £4m pot.
Darwen MP Jake Berry urged his constituents to get involved before the bidding process closes on Tuesday July 9.
He said: “I know there are large numbers of individuals and organisations in the local area who spend a lot of time and effort supporting those most in need around the world.
“The Community Partnership Window of the Global Poverty Action Fund allows them to put forward their ideas to help people from the poorest parts of the globe with successful projects to receive funding to turn their vision into reality.”
