THE leaders of a drug dealing gang, who were jailed for over 167 years for supplying heroin and cocaine across East Lancashire and other parts of the country, are to feature on a bus shelter in Blackburn.
The six mugshots along with details of their conviction will be displayed in Higher Eanam area of Blackburn.
The posters, which form part of Lancashire Constabulary’s Behind Bars campaign, are designed to inform local communities how long criminals have been sent to prison for and reassure them about the action taken by the police.
They were arrested in a series of early morning raids in August and September 2011 and more than £1.5million worth of drugs were seized by police, along with over £200,000 in cash.
Detective Superintendent Lee Halstead said: “They brought a great deal of upset and misery to local communities, whose lives were blighted by the effects of their drug dealing and associated violence.
“I hope that by displaying their pictures on bus shelters for everyone to see acts as a reminder that 167 years in prison is proof that crime certainly does not pay.”
