TWO business leaders have stepped in to provide a timely boost to a TV presenter’s culinary crusade for a sick youngster.
Bid TV star Sally Jacks recently appeared on the East Lancashire edition of the Channel 4 favourite Come Dine With Me.
And she pledged to recreate her menu for the highest bidder in aid of the appeal for Sam Shaw, the four-year-old from Hoddlesden with neuroblastoma.
But to Sally’s dismay the first few winning bids on the eBay auction site fell through due to irregularities.
However Julian Smith, who runs Discount Carpets on the Lomeshaye industrial estate in Nelson, stepped in with a £750 pledge.
And when ‘Bank of Dave’ business mogul Dave Fishwick heard of the former Bucks Fizz singer’s efforts, he promised another £1,000 for Sally to hand over to Sam’s appeal.
Little Sam and his family and friends are fundraising to reach a £250,000 target to send him to America for potentially life-saving treatment.
