FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze in a derelict building after a pile of rubbish went up in flames.
Fire officers have launched an investigation into how the blaze at a former timber merchants in Harrison Street, Blackburn started on Friday night.
The disused industrial unit is thought to have been broken into before the large pile of rubbish dumped in the building was set alight at around 9pm.
Firefighters said damage was contained to the inside of the building and the skylights.
Police have been informed.
