A MUSIC student who shot to fame on Britain’s Got Talent is celebrating a Top 40 hit with the help of his bandmates and a university tutor turned producer.

Harry Mondryk, 16, who is currently studying for a BTEC in music at Burnley College is one third of Reconnected, which has reached number 32 with their single ‘One In A Million’.

His breakthrough track, with 18-year-old brother Max and their pal Matt Fitzgerald, has a little Burnley stardust sprinkled on it.

One of the mixes on the single has been produced by Steve Reid, who runs the media and music degrees at the Burnley UCLan campus in Princess Way.

And Steve has been working closely with Reconnected, as they aim to become the next big thing in the pop world.

Steve said: “The band has just completed a UK tour with Little Mix and has been performing the new single to thousands of screaming fans.”

Reconnected were the first signings to Dragon’s Den mogul Duncan Bannatyne’s own record label. The TV star also makes a brief appearance in the video for ‘One In A Million’.

Brothers Harry and Max, originally from Whitefield, first made their name as Connected, making it to the finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2010.

Steve, known in the trade as Stephen D Reid, is behind Doc Redeye Promotions which runs the Burnley Rock and Blues Festival.

The three-piece has also been fronting a blood donors campaign in the north west, even though Harry can only officially donate when he turns 17 in August.
