WORK to remove 500 tonnes of silt from the paddling pool in Sunnyhurst Woods has been completed.
Chairman of the Friends of Sunnyhurst Wood Dennis Gillibrand said the final load was removed from the wood on Friday after three weeks of hard work.
Previously, the silt had been dug up and left in piles to dry out, before contractors came in to remove it from the site altogether.
Mr Gillibrand said: “We are now looking into methods of keeping check on the pond to ensure it doesn’t get into this situation again.”
