SEVEN proposed luxury eco-homes in Chapeltown have failed to sell, so the developer wants to change their design before they are built.
The multi-million pound scheme is scheduled to go up on the site of the now demolished Victoria Mill in Station Road.
Former Blackburn Rovers captain and current Chorley FC manager Garry Flitcroft first put forward the plan in 2009 hoping to sell the eco-homes for more than £700,000. Now he wants to change the planning permission granted in 2010 to make the proposal ‘a more attractive and marketable residential development’.
North Turton Parish Council has objected ‘strongly’ to the designs saying they are ‘out of character with area’. Blackburn with Darwen council planning committee has been recommended by officers to approve the changed design.
