SMITH Paul Andrew Reverend Canon Paul Smith: After a short illness, Paul passed away in hospital surrounded by his loving family on Monday 1st July 2024, aged 69 years. A priest for over 40 years, Father Paul led the churches of St Anne's Moor Nook, St Peter and St Paul's Rishton, St Mary's Cottingham and latterly in retirement at St Stephen's on the Cliffs Blackpool. Beloved husband of Ruth, dearly loved dad of Ellie and James, father-in-law to Sarah and a proud grandad to Harriet, Hector and Elijah. Father Paul will be deeply missed by all his loving family, many friends and colleagues. "I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake I shall be satisfied, beholding your likeness." Reception into St Stephen on the Cliffs Church on Thursday 18th July at 7:00pm prior to the Mass on Friday 19th July at 12:00 noon, followed by the committal at Carleton Crematorium.
