JEPSON J Denis The family sadly announce that suddenly and unexpectedly, Denis aged 86 years, passed away at home on Tuesday 5th March. Youngest son of John "JC" & Phebe Jepson. The dearly loved husband of the late Elizabeth, a much loved father of Craig & Bridget, Grant & Juliette. Adored Grandpa of Grace & Eve. Loved by step family Shereen, Nessa, Kyle & Freya. Dearest brother of Maurice and his wife Kathleen and a beloved uncle. Dear Brother-in-law to the late Jan. A loved friend of many. Former Chairman of Darwen FC, Sunnyhurst Bowling Club, Sunnyhurst Tennis Club & ROSA. Retired proprietor of Old & New Editions Toy Shop, Darwen - "The Best Toys in Town". Former choirmaster and organist to many churches in Lancashire. His quick wit, cheeky sense of humour and affable nature will be greatly missed by all that knew him, as well as his musical talent which brought joy to many. Denis was able to remain at home in the last 18 months with the help of his wonderful team of carers from Home Instead and his loyal friends in the Sunnyhurst area, for which we are particularly grateful. Many thanks to the attending ambulance crews and police for their efforts and kindness shown to the family. Denis' funeral will take place at St Cuthbert's Church, Earnsdale Road, Darwen at 10:30am on Friday 22nd March, followed by a short service at Pleasington Crematorium. Mourning attire please.
