BOLTON Cyril Geoffrey Who died peacefully in Blackburn Hospital on Sunday 20th August, aged 80 years. Devoted husband of Margaret, dear brother of Russell and a much-loved uncle, brother-in-law, colleague and friend. The funeral service will take place at Ribchester Parish Church of St. Wilfrid on Monday 4th September at 1.30pm, prior to a private family committal at Pleasington Crematorium. Cyril and me were at school together (QEGS) then he started work up Park Road and me, Audley Bridge. In 1962 I got a beat up Austin Seven / Mini 850cc. We got it rally ready and as members of Clitheroe Motor Club and Lancashire Automobile Club, we set about getting on with road rallying - of a fashion. ( and Sunday driving rests!) Encouraged by our dads - Howarth Bolton and Billy Bell, we produced a competitive car and hit on with events.
But over time Cyril became a belting navigator and co-driver, second to none. We had a few successes and some great times, including lots of fun and laughs with his dry sense of humour
