Barbara RIDING

RIDING Barbara Within the presence of her son Philip and daughter Elizabeth, Barbara, aged 92 years, passed away at home on the 9th February 2023. An avid local historian, Barbara's life was characterised by a deep rooted faith and a devotion to Blackburn Baptist Church. As a loving wife to the late Fred, mother, mother-in-law , granny and great-granny, she will be sorely missed. May Flights of Angels Sing Thee To Thy Rest. A private family burial will take place at Pleasington Cemetery, followed by a Thanksgiving Service at Blackburn Baptist Church Shakespeare Way, at 1:00 pm on Thursday 23rd February. Elizabeth and Philip have specified for family flowers only . I was so shocked to come across Barbara's death quite by accident. It can't have been more than the odd week or so since we had last spoken on the phone. Barbara was my teacher at Intack Primary in the 1950s and early 1960s. We made contact again many years later and were both delighted to meet up again when I was doing some history research in Blackburn. We shared a love of local history. I shall miss her.
