SUTCLIFFE Kenneth (Ken) Peacefully in the Grove Care Home on Thursday, 8th September, 2022, Ken, aged 81 years, beloved and devoted husband to the late Esme, much loved dad to Dawn, Mark and Kevin, father-in-law to Pete, Liz and Emma, cherished grandad to Kirsty, Carlie, Simon, Lewis, Ben, Luke, Dominic and Sam, great grandad to Carson, loved brother-in-law to Margaret and Peter, caring uncle to Tracey, Lee and families, also a dear friend and neighbour who will be sadly missed. Ken's funeral cortege will leave from his home on Monday, 26th September at 11-10 a.m. for service and cremation at Burnley Crematorium, 11-30 a.m. Family flowers only please or donations are being received for NW Air Ambulance and RNLI, c/o and all inquiries to Alderson and Horan Funeral Service, 128 Rossendale Rd, Burnley, BB11 5DH. I worked with Ken 15 years ago at Acewell when i was an apprentice.
Absolute top bloke who always brightened up my day, always cheerful. Always kept a tin of sweets in the door pocket of his little white van which he would share out whenever we crossed paths at work. If we were ever working within 15 mile of Burnley, we'd pick up a chippy and go back to his house where Esme would put the kettle on for a cuppa, whilst we sat and watched daytime TV for an extended but we'll earned dinner time.
Without doubt one of the friendliest persons I've ever met. I'm certain he's dearly missed amongst his family, I know I miss the days of working with him.
