ST GEORGE’S Church at Kendal is hosting an Organ and Choral Celebration on Saturday, September 11 (7.30pm) in honour of its 1883 Wilkinson organ. The Grade 1 listed instrument is the largest surviving organ built by the prestigious Wilkinson organ factory, which was originally based in Yorkshire but moved to a building on Kendal’s Aynam Road around 1839. The concert will feature some of the region’s top choristers, Hugh Davies as soloist and conductor, with Ian Pattinson accompanist.
