DANCE teacher Graham Vernon, from Samlesbury, gives his verdict on the seventh episode on Strictly Come Dancing.

Austin and Erin - Quickstep
Great sharp lines with some very difficult and intricate timing that was very well executed/ A top demonstration of a quality quickstep. Well done Austin and Erin and a definite ten from me.

Heather and Brian - Cha Cha
It was nice to see Heather closing her feet some of the time this week, except she was dancing off time. She was very flat-footed, but there were some nice elements of performance in her upper body. Bruno was right - if she would have danced on Saturday as she did in the dance-off she would not have been in the bottom two.

Jodie and Ian - Waltz
A very graceful Waltz with good shaping and lines. A few little footwork issues that Jodie needs to work on but a lovely choreographed routine. She has obviously worked very hard to increase her standard this week. Let's hope she keeps it up.

Andrew and Ola - Samba
Lots of heels from Andrew's Samba. It reminded me of a wooden wobbly man, but there was definitely more rhythm in his body than we have seen in other weeks, and he did improve in the dance off. However, it was definitely time for him to hang up his shoes.

Lisa and Brendan - Tango
What a tantalising Tango, fantastic top line with beautiful shaping. A brilliantly choreographed routine - what a difference! This has just put Lisa back in the running.

Cherie and James - Salsa
Very disappointed with Cherie again this week - what has happened to her? A spice-less Salsa with no fluidity or softness to the moves, and she obviously forgot the routine in several places. Let's hope she gets her sparkle back next week.

John and Kristina - Foxtrot
I am lost for words - even John's sparkle was not there this week. Having scored the lowest points with the judges do you think the British public is keeping him in because of his plea to lose two stone, or is he still your cuddly toy?

Tom and Camilla - Paso Doble
Fabulous cape work, which is very difficult to do, apart from the beach towel bit at the end. Len was right - it does not play a part in the Paso but as a showpiece it is entertaining. His grande Jeté and stag jump were perfect as were all the highlights. If anything his facial expression was a little overdone, but Tom is back on track again after last week. Do you agree?

Christine and Matthew - Smooth
Quite an elegant routine, Christine just needs to stretch her leg line more. There was also an improvement in her upper body this week and good control on the lifts. But it was just lacking a bit of flair for me, especially at this stage in the competition.

Rachel and Vincent - Jive
Not the best I have seen these two dance. I would have liked to have seen more Jive content in the routine, and Rachel's leg action needed more power. But I think it was Vincent who let the partnership down with the choreography. What are your views?
