It's Blackpool week, the Mecca for Ballroom dancing throughout the World, where better to Paso Doblé your personality, Cha cha your charisma, and Argentine the Audience, and boy had everyone upped their game!

The production was amazing, the audience was fantastic, and the dancing was spectacular. But who would leave the competition at this stage and take a long walk off a short pier and who would be galloping along the golden mile with fish and chips?

Frankie & Kevin Quickstep C8 D9 L10 B10 T37

A red hot roaring Quickstep to open the Blackpool show, and when they were in hold they were flying around the floor, their styling, technique and pure speed and flight was unbelievable, and the size of the Blackpool floor compared to the BBC studio was not even a challenge for Frankie. I did not think they needed the other dancers to perform with them but it did fill a little time.

Jake & Janette American Smooth (Foxtrot) C9 D9 L9 B9 T36

Jake has really upped his game this week, and Janette holding the splits whilst being hurled into the air! Wow! And it is very difficult to fill the floor with a Foxtrot but great styling and strong flow.

Sunetra & Brendan Samba C6 D8 L8 B8 T30

Not Sunetra’s best dance, but a full on Samba full of technical content and energy that Sunetra performed really well, there were a few instances where Sunetra danced a little heavy footed, and lost the Samba carnival feel, but well done.

Simon & Kristina Argentine Tango C8 D10 L10 B10 T38

This was easily Simon’s best dance to date and a winning combination of technique, style, passion and presentation, an effortless performance that was truly a professional entertaining routine, Simon you have had a couple of little scares in the dreaded dance off, but keep this amazing standard up.

Judy & Anton Viennese Waltz C4 D6 L7 B7 T24

A true Viennese Waltz, very light footed for Judy who did not look as nervous as in previous weeks, a great lilting feel and rotary action and for me it was Judy’s best dance in the competition.

Mark & Karen Charleston C9 D9 L9 B9 T36

Mark’s kicks were so powerful and precise, there has obviously been lots of rehearsing for this week’s performance, very clean and precise, if anything it felt a little clinical, a very good performance just maybe needed some of Mark’s personality to ooze through.

Pixie & Trent Paso Doblé C9 D9 L10 B10 T38

Pixie the powerful Paso Doblé pop girl! An amazing interpretation of this dance, with beautiful styling, fantastic presentation, skill and performance, all thrown together with perfect Paso choreography.

Steve & Ola American Smooth (Foxtrot) C7 D8 L8 B8 T31

A very powerful and passionate performance from these two this week, however I found it a little flat in parts and Steve’s knees were bent throughout, but it was clean looking and smooth.

Caroline & Pasha Jive C9 D9 L9 B10 T37

Which one was Caroline? I found it really difficult to tell her apart from the professional backing dancers in the beginning, perfect Kicks, Flicks and a light flowing performance.

Sunday results show

A crazy Jackson Five opening from all the shows dancers, but Judges please stop dancing onto the floor as it does put the tac in tacky.

Sunetra & Brendan and Judy & Anton in the dreaded dance off and to be honest I thought it was a very close call and could have gone either way but the Judges saved Sunetra to dance another week.
