THE ROSSENDALE Players will turn their attentions to murder and intrigue in their new play for 2006, Murder by Misadventure.
It tells the story of TV thriller writer Harold Ken, who despite success has become dissatisfied with his writing partner Paul Riggs and wants to dissolve their association.
Riggs, however, knows he would not survive as a writer without Harold and threatens to blackmail him if the partnership is ended.
Harold conspires with his wife Emma to kill Riggs using a plot from a projected script Murder by Misadventure as his inspiration.
Complications ensue when persistent Inspector Egan visits the Kents and the plotters are in for some nasty surprises.
Directed by Lynda Birch with Tony McDonagh as Harold Kent, Stuart Marshall as Paul Riggs, Roma Taylor as Emma Kent and Len Taylor as Inspector Egan, the production promises audiences thrills and mind-boggling twists.
The play runs from Saturday, January 28 to Saturday, February 4 at the New Millennium Theatre, Waterfoot. The Sunday performance is in aid of the Haslingden committee of the RNLI.
Tickets, £6, can be bought from Mace at Watts News, Burnley Road and at Rawtenstall tourist information centre, Kay Street, or by calling Anne Riding 01706 228720.
