THE grounds of Gawthorpe Hall were transformed into a ‘Wonderland’ for a live performance at the weekend.
An 18-strong cast from Off The Ground Theatre Company brought Lewis Carroll’s 1865 novel Alice in Wonderland to life during an open air performance on Saturday.
Dozens of people flocked to Padiham’s Elizabethan landmark and made themselves comfortable in deckchairs or on cushions.
Memorable characters including Alice, the White Rabbit, Queen of Hearts and Mad Hatter were featured in the adaptation by James Foggins.
Youngsters watched in delight as the actors, in bright costumes and wearing colourful make-up, performed at the National Trust property.
