THIS much fun shouldn’t be legal.
Like, okay you guys, you may totally be thinking ‘whatever’ about a musical that is so unashamedly camp, pink and blonde, but don’t judge a book by its cover.
The story of Elle Woods and her battle to win back the love of her life is a crowd and critic pleaser alike.
The London production bagged the coveted Olivier Award for best new musical earlier this year proving blondes do have more fun.
And the first touring production based on the hit film starring Reese Witherspoon started out at the Liverpool Empire.
Faye Brookes stars as the all-American blonde and self-confessed pink addict Elle who finds herself dumped by her boyfriend Warner who is looking for a more serious girlfriend as he heads off to Harvard.
Undeterred, she decides to prove just how serious she is and dazzles the Harvard Law School admission panel with the full cheerleading team in an all singing and dancing way.
But she faces an uphill struggle once at the school with a scary law professor and her beloved Warner who has bagged himself a straight-laced girlfriend.
Helped by her sorority sisters – styled as a Greek chorus – hairdresser Paulette and teaching assistant Emmett Forest, Elle proves dumb blondes is just a myth.
The show was a delight with a great cast and excellent singing from Faye Brookes, who appears to spend almost the entire show on stage and with an impressive number of costume changes to boot.
You’d be dumb not to miss it.
