The Street Fighter series is one of the best of its genre — a name that instantly conjures up an image whether in the minds of gamers or those who detest being anywhere near a controller.

Street Fighter II was the big one, its 2D fighting action unlike anything else that existed at that time.

The series even spawned a film in 1994 starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Kylie Minogue.

The Street Fighter IV series was unveiled in 2007, more than eight years after SF III.

Street Fighter IV was made to fit into the timeframe between II and III and it featured the return of the original 12 world warriors.

In 2009, Super Street Fighter IV was announced.

So what’s new? Well this is the Arcade Edition and while it may be cynical to suggest that these “edition” updates are a sneaky money-making ploy, preying on the most loyal Street Fighter fans, such claims can only be made if the game doesn’t cut the mustard.

But this one does. The legendary series goes one step further than before, with classic 2D SF fighting action, a host of new and returning characters, more advanced online sharing options, new ultra combos and much more.

It’s got that magic formula of instant appeal, throwing you quickly into the fast and furious fighting action, while also providing the opportunity for more serious gaming scrappers to refine their fighting style.
