Lancashire Telegraph review by Simone Yates from May 28, 2011.
There are a few award-winning Indian restaurants in Darwen and it would be hard for me to say which was the best one.
But this time we chose Sukhi's for a birthday celebration with a party of 13 people and every one of us enjoyed the food.
To start we ordered poppadoms with all the trimmings, including mango chutney and chopped onions.
The poppadoms were crispy and fresh, just as they should be.
The birthday girl went for a vegetable balti with boiled rice and a chapati to mop up the remaining curry sauce.
A dish without meat was obviously perfect for a vegetarian.
I had a chicken dupiazi with a side portion of keema rice, chosen from an attractive and varied menu.
The curry was enriched with spices, but wasn’t too spicy, and the chicken was tender and tasty.
Named after the owner, Sukhis also has its own award-winning ‘Sukhi's’ beer that a few of us tried before the meal.
The beer was refreshing and had less fizz than others, so it didn’t fill you up as much as usual. before a heavy meal.
We had a variety of dishes ordered to our table, from chicken tikka massala to prawn madras.
Each dish comes with a side of your choice.
The prices were reasonable and the food was freshly cooked, hot and we all got our meals together, I will be going back to Sukhi's in the near future.
