With Pro-Evo heading for a Leeds United style fall from grace, it is left to FIFA 11 to kick on and provide the ultimate football experience.
Some pundits felt Electronic Arts would never have advanced on the beautiful game that was FIFA 10 and while it did indeed advance on that game with the World Cup edition, this latest iteration is the best yet.
We would go as far as to say it’s the greatest football game of all time and it does actually make you wonder where the franchise really could go from here.
FIFA games have, of late, been ultra realistic and 11 doesn’t disappoint in the visuals.
The character models are incredible and it’s easy to see just who is supposed to be who rather than the terrible waxwork style players we had to endure a fair few years back.
But that’s only half the story because a football game is not just a visual spectacular nor are they judged on how faithfully they recreate a television experience with all of its blistering commentary.
It’s a given that this a true-to-life representation of football.
But on top of that the career/manager mode — a combination of Be A Pro and Manager Mode — has been greatly enhanced and is reason alone to trade-in your FIFA 10 copy.
