Lancashire Telegraph review by Vicky Cosgrove from January 25, 2010.
I HAVE been to this pub many times.
It’s just around the corner from my parents’ house and you know you will be satisfied after a meal here.
So after a long day at work I headed here with my other half and my parents for a meal.
We all went for the carvery option, which costs a reasonable £3.59 each. For this you get a choice of three types of meat — turkey, beef and ham.
You can have just one or a bit of all three, as well as all the trimmings that go with a roast dinner, such as roast and boiled potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, stuffing balls and several types of vegetables such as cauliflower cheese and carrots.
The meal is all self-service except the meat which is carved by one of the chefs in front of you so there is no real waiting time. You can pile your plate up with as much or as little as you want.
The turkey was soft and succulent, the beef just melted in your mouth but I found the ham a little salty. The potatoes were nice and crispy and the vegetables were cooked well.
Both were nice and hot.
For four of us the meal came in at just over £20, including drinks.
A real bargain for such a delicious meal.
