TAKE one of the most successful teen movies of the past decade, sprinkle in a helping of Disney magic and add a wonderfully choreographed ice show, and you're on to a sure-fire winner.
I was slightly reticent when I took my daughter Olivia, five, to see this show.
She loves the two movies but how well would the adventures of Troy, Gabriella and Sharpay translate onto a converted ice rink in the middle of Manchester?
Well, I needn't have worried - it worked in spectacular style.
The Ice Tour is an amalagamation of the two made-for-TV Disney movies, following the Romeo and Juliet style romance of Troy Bolton - a high school basketball player - and his true love Gabriella Montez.
The show works because it strips most of the dialogue from the two films and concentrates on the musical hits that all our sons and daughters have been performing with the hairbrush over the past year.
The highly-choreographed show is stunning and we even get to see basketball on ice as the Wildcats dance their way through several numbers.
Add some fireworks, special effects and a big video screen and you've got thousands of youngsters in High School Musical heaven.
Even my mum joined in the singing and Mexican wave!
This is a show the whole family will enjoy, and my daughter hasn't stopped talking about since.
- The show runs until Sunday. Details from 0844 847 8000.
