LOCAL societies have been put forward for awards in the region’s Golden Globes of the amateur dramatic world. Winners in the annual Association of Community Theatre awards will be decided at a glittering dinner at the Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham on Saturday.
And those up for the gongs from theatre societies include: Most Creative Comic Portrayal in a Panto – Jenny Gill – Fairy – Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Burnley Panto.
Most Original Character Actress: Claire Ashworth, Fairy Godmother, Cinderella Bacup AO&DS and Kath Watkins as Queen Avarice in Snow White, Burnley Panto.
Most Original Character actor: Jonathan Pye – Chuckles – Snow White, Burnley Panto.
Most accomplished Principal Girl: Louise Young, Snow White, Burnley Panto and Amy Singleton, Cinderella, Bacup AODS.
Most Accomplished Principal Boy: Gary Leonard, Snow White, Burnley Panto.
Most Creative Panto: Burnley Panto, Snow White.
Most Original Production Concept: And then There Were None, Burnley Garrick (pictured) and Ladies’ Day, from the Burnley Garrick Club.
Most Original Comedy Performance (Drama): Neil Tranter – Herbert Soppitt – When We Are Married, from the Burnley Garrick Club.
