TWO thousand screaming Lostprophets fans can't be wrong!

Poor old King George's Hall must have wondered what had hit it as the Welsh wonders shook this venerable old building to its very core.

This was loud, raw rock and roll where the bass sent shockwaves through your chest and the guitars screamed like banshees.

Lostprophets have a massive, dedicated following - the gig sold out within hours of going on sale - and many had queued up outside all day to get space at the front of the stage.

And what a strange mixture they were.

Predominantly Lostprophets appeal to teen and early twenties, but there was enough old rockers around to prove that these guys have earned respect.

You can see why. They have a lead singer in Ian Watkins who knows how to work a crowd and behind all the posturing there are good musicians driving everything along.

For me - and I know I'm sounding my age - the volume was slightly over the top as the thumping drums and bass hid some really good songs and after a while it did start to sound somewhat same-ish.

But I suspect I was in a minority as the crowd lapped it up.

It was a sweaty, raucous night with the crowd singing along to everything during the 90 minutes of pure energy.

Add a fabulous light show and more crowd surfing than I've seen for ages and this was a full on rock gig.

Though quite what the collection of mums who stood around the edge of the hall trying to keep an eye on their offspring made of it, I'm not sure.
