CHIQUITO’S has recently launched its new menu and if you are a fan of Mexican food it’s well worth taking a look.
The restaurant bar and grill is inviting and caters for most people, whether it’s for drinks alone or a three course meal.
The atmosphere is relaxed in a fun-pub kind of way and complimentary crayons and jigsaws on arrival help keep the kids entertained.
An impressive drinks menu was handed to us along with the new-look menu, with cocktails just under £6 and a wide range of beers and wine.
Nachos from £9.95 and fully-loaded potato skins at £5.45 are just a couple of the tempting starters. Main dishes range from wraps and quesadillas to enchiladas and jambalaya.
The classic chicken fajitas sounded delicious but it had to be the Tex Mex rack of BBQ ribs for me at £19.95.
The little ones were happy with a choice from the £4.95 kids’ menu followed by a popcorn chocolate sundae.
Sizzling its way to our table served on a bed of spiced onions and peppers, I thought I had made the wrong decision once the fajitas arrived as they looked delicious.
But I was wrong – the full rack of ribs were the right decision.
Mouth-wateringly tasty, the tender meat just fell from the bone, served with onion rings and a corn on the cob you could even share in this belly-busting dish.
If only I had remembered to take advantage of the Lancashire Telegraph’s Friday Feast promotion, I could have taken a tenner off the £65 bill.
