AN award-winning author is coming to Blackburn today to sign and talk about his new book.
Portico Prize winner Paul Wilson will be at Blackburn Library to promote his new book The Visiting Angel.
Paul, who has worked in a range of social care settings including several run by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, is tipped as the one to watch at this year’s literary awards.
The Visiting Angel is about care worker, Patrick Shepherd who is dealing with his own problems such as the death of his brother and being orphaned while trying to help residents of his halfway house rebuild their lives.
Councillor Damian Talbot said: “This is a rare chance to meet a critically acclaimed novelist who writes about those marginalised by society in a sympathetic and gripping story.”
* Paul Wilson is at Blackburn Library from 7pm on Wednesday, June 29. Tickets are £1 and are available from the library.
