From Keith Sowerbutts, Oswald Street, Accrington.
In a world full of avarice, hunger and greed,
Poor, sick, disabled, and people in need,
Is it so hard to condone what people say?
Just a slip of the tongue in the course of the day.
Remember, love your enemies, is no daunting task.
Show forgiveness. Is it too much to ask?
A kindly word may break the chain
Of a downhearted person, who suffers the pain.
Of a thoughtless word, uttered in haste.
While life passes you by, it seems such a waste!
Get it together. Give folk a chance!
With the light of forgiveness, you life you'll enhance!
We all have moments when we bite our tongue,
Then realise on reflection, we've said something wrong!
Try to seal up the wound, make a new start,
So forgive and forget, give it straight from the heart!
