From Mrs Ruth Martin, Woodbine Road, Blackburn.
Leaf patterns change,
Grasses sway,
Petals fall,
Drenching spray
Rain squall.
Clouds race,
Darkening day
Birds soar,
Against the grey,
Banging door.
Gusty winds,
Changing sky,
Leaves and litter,
Lifted high.
Trees bend,
Boughs break,
Boats tossed,
On ruffled lake,
Umbrellas lost.
Drains flood,
People dashing,
Gates creak,
Thunder crashing.
Storm passes,
Comes the calm,
Still the grasses,
No harm
Thank God.
