A salon where customers travel from all over the North is a finalist in the Lancashire Telegraph’s ‘Best Beauty Salon 2024’.
Leanne Crossley has run Lila's Hair and Beauty for 15 years, building a loyal client base, many of whom have stayed with her since her time in college.
Having originally been based in Accrington Road, they moved to their new site in Bentleywood, Hapton, at the start of this year.
Leanne said: “I didn’t expect it all. I didn’t know that so many people had voted for me, and I had seen a lot of other people's names. I didn’t expect it myself.
“I am a bit overwhelmed by it all. From a young age, I wanted to be a hairdresser, and I never talked about anything else.
“I have had clients get in touch with me from what I did in college, and they come all the way from Yorkshire and make me feel really good.”
Named after her daughter, who she has brought up on her own, the salon has become famed for its hair extensions and now offers a range of aesthetic treatments.
After falling pregnant with her daughter, Leanne was only offered part-time work at her previous salon and used the extra time to further her skills through additional college courses.
Now based at Bentleywood, alongside Cosmetic Aesthetics and BeautifyMe, the team offers a bespoke experience.
Leanne’s room is split with her best friend, Karley Lampard, and they offer the full beauty day out at the state-of-the-art facility, with Leanne doing hair and Karley doing nails, brows and lashes.
Leanne added: “I have regulars that come every week, they are really loyal, and they all followed me to my new site.
“Since I have been here, I have been advertising a bit, as I don’t get passing trade and I am still getting quite a few new clients.”
The move comes after her previous shop was constantly targeted in burglaries and her husband suggested a new location.
Readers can vote for the ‘Best Beauty Salon 2024’ by picking up copies of the Lancashire Telegraph between Monday, September 30 to Saturday, October 12.
