Finest White Burgundy 2010, £7.79, Tesco.
This Tesco own-label of a French classic is remarkably cheap compared with rivals.
The Chardonnay grapes give a mix of melon, apple and vanilla flavour, but what’s important is the quality of a Burgundy made by award-winner Alain Pierre in Buxy from grapes grown Cote Chalonnaise area.
A nice 12.5 per cent alcohol level and handy screw top.
