Hawkes Bay Syrah 2009, £8.99, Sainsbury's Another lovely £2-plus reduction and another own label Kiwi wine, this time a Syrah, or Shiraz, from the Hawke’s Bay area.
A strong wine with intense tastes of blackcurrants and raspberries.
It’s surprisingly good considering many of the best Shiraz come from traditionally hotter areas like Australia’s Hunter Valley.
