Minervois is the wine appelation in the Languedoc region of Southern France between the city of Carcassone and the coast not far from the border with Spain.
It's the home of some robust red grapes and this example is 70% Syrah or Shiraz and 30% Mourverde.
The tannins are soft and the wine has a nice spicy edge.
What's more it's organic and each bottle sold means a donation to a rain forest charity.
L'Olivier Minervois, £4.49, Booths.
