Budgens Macon Villages is a French appellation and the wine is 100 per cent Chardonnay.
It isn’t the big, flabby sort of Chardonnay you get in the New World but a much subtler style with green apple flavours and a reasonable 12.5% alcohol level.
Look out for decent discounts on the recommended retail price.
