ACTOR Akshay Kumar has released details of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gabbar Is Back.
Akshay shared an exclusive teaser promo shot on Twitter, where he sports a ‘rugged persona’.
The new avatar of one of India’s most-loved villains, Gabbar, which was unveiled by Akshay Kumar, shows a tombstone bearing the name ‘Corruption’.
The film’s release date is mentioned as the day ‘corruption ceased’ and India’s Independence Day is mentioned as the birth date.
Gabbar is a story of a common man, Ajay (Akshay Kumar) wronged by the establishment, who starts the Anti-Corruption Force (ACF).
Gabbar Is Back also stars Sonu Sood and Shruti Hassan alongside Prakash Raj and Nikitin Dheer.
The film is directed by Krish, written by A. R. Murugadoss and Shiraz Ahmed and produced by veteran filmmaker Bhansali Productions, along with Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.
An underground vigilante army, a secret identity, an elaborate modus...all of these combined make a ‘Gabbar’– a ‘true hero’.
Meanwhile, Askhay has been busy learning Arabic for his 2016 release Airlift.
In it he plays the role of Indian-Arab billionaire ‘Ranjit Katiyal’, who planned an ambitious evacuation mission to rescue 170,000 Indians in Kuwait during the Iraq invasion.
Airlift is directed by Raja Krishna Menon and produced by Bhushan Kumar along with Nikhil Advani and Vikram Mehrotra. Akshay Kumar’s leading lady in the film will be Nimrat Kaur (Lunchbox).
To shoot the film, Menon needed to recreate 90s’ scenes from Kuwait and Baghdad and says the film is not about terrorism, “This is not Baby, Part 2.
“Airlift belongs to the stories of all those families who were affected by war when Saddam attacked Kuwait.”
