ONE of the defining bands of the Madchester scene and the poster boy of the modern folk scene are among the big names announced for this year’s Ramsbottom Festival.
The festival, now in its second year, will once again be held at Ramsbottom Cricket Club, opening on Friday, September 14 and running over the weekend.
The headline acts which have just been revealed are Inspiral Carpets for the Friday night, Scottish indie folk outfit Admiral Fallow and the Leisure Society on the Saturday and Seth Lakeman and Thea Gilmore on the Sunday.
Other artists on the bill include Roddy Woomble, lead singer of Idlewild, Wonderstuff duo Miles Hunt and Erika Nockells and fiddle band A9.
The festival will also include comedy, a real ale tent, a funfair and various food outlets.
More acts will be announced over the coming weeks and tickets are now on sale from the festival box office on 0844 844 2920 or in person from Bury Met.
A weekend ticket is £50 with a family weekend ticket for two adults and two children £125.
