A family fun day is taking place at Woodlands Road in Nelson on Saturday, July 30.

Between 1pm and 4pm the road will be closed to make way for a bouncy castle, a penalty shoot out and street dancing.

There'll also be sumo wrestling suits and a bungee run so you can challenge your friends and family.

The event has been organised by Southfield Residents Group in conjunction with Pendle Council.

James Booth, Interim Chair of the Southfield Area Residents Association, said: "As well as a fantastic day out, this a great opportunity for you to meet your neighbours and find out what's going on in your area!

"We want to see as many Southfield residents as possible join us - it really is a fun day out for all the family."

As well as activities there will be information stalls from organisations including Help Direct and the police and plenty of refreshments.

STAN the van will also be on site so residents can find out about local services.

The Mayor of Pendle, Councillor Nadeem Ahmed, will be kick-starting the fun at 1pm.

Councillor Shelagh Derwent, the Council's representative for Localities, said: "It's great to have events like this which can be enjoyed by all the family.

"Come rain or shine it will be a good day out because we can move into the hall at Woodlands Road Baptist Church!"
