A GIANT carnivorous plant with a craving for blood and a love of rhythm and blues music is being let loose at a school in Burnley as it opens its new theatre with a lavish performance of a zany cult musical.
Little Shop of Horrors, telling the story of the tangled lives of floral assistant Seymour, his co-worker Audrey and a mysterious plant, is being performed at Blessed Trinity School.
The spectacular show, featuring a cast of over 30, has been produced by the pupils with the help of four teachers.
Pupils have also provided the backstage crew, lighting, props, and the music.
Music teacher Felicity Kent said: “It has a bit of everything and it is a good show to produce in a college environment.”
Assistant headteacher Andy Montrose said: “The production has taken up most lunchtimes and weekdays after school.”
* Little Shop of Horrors runs at Blessed Trinity School, Burnley, from Tuesday, February 15 until Thursday, February 17. For more information contact 01282 683030.
