FOLK fans are in for a treat with the news that Mellor Brook Community Centre has pulled off something of a coup.
The five-piece band The Poozies will be playing at the venue, calling in to Mellor Brook as they head down for a major show in the south of England.
For over 20 years, the band has been at the forefront of folk blending traditional instruments and tunes with blues and pop and tight vocal harmonies.
Previous members of the band have included Kate Rusby and Karen Tweed.
Still with three original members – Sally Barker, Mary MacMaster and Patsy Seddon – the band also includes Mairearad Green and Eilidh Shaw.
* The Poozies play at Mellor Brook Community Centre on Sunday, February 20. Tickets are £12 and available in person from the Britannia Gallery at Mellor Brook.
