I’VE had a pop at this before, but must admit that once you start watching you just can’t stop.

Davina McCall hosts what is basically a quiz consisting of a couple being given a million quid and, on facing a question, splitting the money on the answers they feel are most likely. At the end of eight questions they get to keep whatever is left, but usually they don’t get that far.

But why are all the women on it so dumb? You really would think with that sort of money at stake you would both make the effort to do some research.

Anyway, they manage to drag this out for 90 minutes an episode, with added drama provided by the use of security guards, just in case a contestant or a member of the audience decides to leg it with the cash.

I’ve watched this three or four times now and, to give it credit, Davina is very supportive of the contestants in a non-patronising way, which, to be frank, must be quite difficult, and this week someone actually won £75,000 — a first, I think.
