BRITAIN’S Got Talent Star Hollie Steel will be appearing at Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre on July 3 to conclude her UK tour.

The pint-sized singer from Huncoat has been on the road to promote her album entitled Hollie, released earlier this year via Great Harwood distributors Townsend Records.

The album, recorded at The ACE Centre, in Nelson, features a song written by Hollie herself, with a little help from her dad Jason.

“My dad wrote the big words,“ said the 11-year-old soprano from Huncoat.

“He was playing around one day on his keyboard and wrote the music and me and mum loved it. We said let’s use it on my album’.

“Me and dad had to come up with some lyrics but he had to help me.

"I pieced bits together and added a few ideas. It was great fun.

"I want to write more when I’m older and I can do it on my own,” she giggled.

The first song on the album is her debut single, a note-perfect version of Edelweiss, the song which little Hollie famously forgot the words for on the live talent show this time last year.

Also on the album is the song which launched Hollie’s career, I Could Have Danced All Night, from that first Britain’s Got Talent audition where she melted the nation's hearts — even winning over Simon Cowell.

Released through the family’s record label BB5 Records, named after their postcode, the album features the Pendle Arden Youth Choir, who will perform a number of classical pieces.

Songs include Nessun Dorma, Ave Maria, Disney classics and favourites from The Phantom of the Opera and The Sound of Music.

Later this year Hollie and her mum-turned-promoter Nina will visit America for the first time when her tour calls at New York, Washington and LA.

“Mum said we can go to Florida while we’re over there too. I’m so excited,” she said.

“I want to go to Sea World. I’ve been wanting to go for ages and now I get to go and sing all my favourite songs while I’m there too.

“I have to take homework with me, though,” said the student at Oakhill College, Whalley.

“I always keep on top of my work and I’m making sure I still do good at school.”

The tour also includes dates in Stuttgart and Brussels and Hollie has already performed concerts in Bali and Hong Kong.

But before she gets on a plane for only the third time in her young life, Hollie will perform four dates for a small tour closer to home, finishing with a homecoming concert at Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre on July 3.

Hollie aspires to follow in the footsteps of Huncoat’s first singing sensation, chart-topper Diana Vickers.

“I have a plan,” she said with the passion of a girl twice her age. “First I want to go to a dance or drama college, then bring out another album.

"Then I want to be in a West End show, and then bring out another album, with songs I write.”

Mum Nina said: “I’m very proud of Hollie. She has done so well and she’s still so young.

"We’ve had much happen already and the future is incredibly exciting.”
