I LOVE Will and Grace, I do, I do, but the thing is we're in series seven already. Series seven!
All the great UK comedy series knew when to bow out gracefully, and on a high Fawlty Towers, The Office but the Americans go on and on and on, churning it out from their comedy factories.
Even Friends, which went on forever, is still kind of going, with rumours of another get-together. I suppose if you're earning $1 million dollars an episode you're gonna stay friends.
Meanwhile, the real lives of the actors in Friends and Will and Grace have been through childbirth, marriage and divorce. And where are we? Still sitting on the sofa waiting for it all to end and release us from the bonds of TV addiction so we can get on with our lives.
Who knows what might happen on a Friday night if I actually switched off the TV and ventured into the real world with real people?
The thing is, they are rarely as witty as Karen, or as good looking as Will or Grace, or as funny as Jack.
Anyway, last night was Will's 37th birthday and I felt all too acutely the years that have passed since first tuning in to Will and Grace.
It's getting weary watching their piffly angst in their swanky apartments surrounded by witty, good looking friends.
They should get out in the real world more often. Eh-hem.
