FLORENCE Welch, aka Florence and the Machine, has announced a new tour, including two dates at Blackpool’s magical Empress Ballroom.
Before jetting off, Florence will appear at the BRIT Awards on Tuesday, February 16, to perform a duet of You Got The Dirtee Love with Dizzee Rascal.
She’ll undoubtedly also be hoping to pick up some gongs having been nominated for best female, best album and breakthrough artist.
As Florence has spent the early part of the year in the studio, fans will be hoping to hear some new material soon.
But first will come the re-release of Dog Days Are Over, which is already sitting at number 11 on the iTunes chart, on Monday, March 22 — a far cry from its original 2008 chart position of 89.
The album, Lungs, has fared much better, reaching number one on the albums chart and shifting 700,000 units.
l Florence and the Machine play Blackpool Empress Ballroom on May 7 and 9. Tickets £18.50. Call 0871 2200 260.
