LAST night’s Strictly Come Dancing, It Takes Two saw poor old Austin Healey take his place on Claudia Winkleman’s rejects sofa to discuss why he got the boot.
It was a bit of a shame he went. I quite liked Austin.
Sure, he was a bit cocky and his neck was the same width as his head, but he seemed like a nice guy.
Most of all I liked the way he saved his biggest thanks for his wife in his leaving speech.
Most celebs only gush fawning praise for their dance partners without so much as a word for the wife who has been running the home while they’re doing the salsa with a toned Russian.
Relationships notoriously bite the dust during Strictly Come Dancing, and I’m not surprised.
Have you seen how close they have to put their bodies next to each other?
And they train 40 hours a week. You’d have to have a very strong relationship to withstand seeing your beloved being so intimate with another.
Still, Austin was one of the good guys and I’m glad his wife has him back for Christmas.
