HOLE in the Wall is a programme whose format you suspect has been syndicated to TV stations around the world. And there’s no doubt the Japanese will love it.
But is the sight of a minor celebrity dressed in yards of Bacofoil being pushed into a swimming pool really prime Saturday night viewing?
I suspect it will become a one-series wonder which will be remembered 20 years hence in an episode of I Remember Dodgy TV by some semi-articulate TV presenter who was too you to have ever watched it.
Quite how the Beeb persuaded Darren Gough to become a team captain is beyond me.
If you haven’t seen it , a giant polystyrene wall as a series of shapes cut into it and the celebs have to try and fit themselves through the hole of face a watery end.
If you’re seven it’s probably great fun but then CBeebies is where this show belongs.
