WHAT has happened to Dalziel and Pascoe? The dynamic duo have all of a sudden become almost unwatchable.
A new D&P two-parter used to be a highlight of the schedules, definitely something worth setting the video for.
But now the storylines have become darker and darker; the relationship between Warren Clarke and Colin Buchanan has lost its spark and you tend to come away from it all feeling depressed.
Perhaps that's why the programme has been moved from a prime Sunday/Monday night slot to the outer limits of Thursday and Friday. Do the Beeb realise themselves that things ain't what they used to be?
I thought the last two-parter, all about devil worshippers and a TV hypnotist was bad enough, but last night's myster would suggest that wasn't an aberration.
Even the way the thing's shot is miserable. I think they must have taken over the lighting effects from EastEnders, so much of it is filmed in almost total darkness.
So come on chaps, let's have a bit of lightness in proceedings - in every sense of the word.
