FORMED by Dave Brock of Hawkwind from the ashes of The Sonic Assassins, space rockers The Hawklords re-emerged five years ago with a memorial concert for Barney Bubbles, the graphic designer for Hawkwind’s 1970s albums.
The concert, filmed in London, was released early in 2011, and left fans wanting more. Hawklords returned to the road a couple of years ago to promote their album We Are One, featuring all new material, and last year saw the release of their second studio album, Dream.
Featuring classic songs like Silver Machine, their live show at Preston’s 53 Degrees will dip in and out of the Hawkwind archives as well as presenting songs from their last two albums and a specially created lightshow by tour circuit veteran Dave Johnson.
- Hawklords, 53 Degrees, October 23. See tickets 0871 220 0260.
