BLACKBURN Is Open on the first Thursday of every month from June 5, offering a series of events across the town.
Art, creative activities, live music and entertainment will be held across a range of venues in the town in a bid to build a creative community in the heart of Blackburn.
For the first event being launched next week, local band Sky Valley Mistress The Blackburn Rockers, Blue’s Blind J Bear Johnson, singer songwriter Danielle Wallace will all be performing in the marquee on King William Street.
Whether you’re an art historian or someone who has never stepped foot in a gallery, First Thursdays is a new way to experience the cultural wealth that the town has to offer.
LINE UP
Noon to 6pm: Live street art outside Weave
Noon on: DJs in Weave
3pm to 8pm: Live music in the marquee
4pm to 5pm: Taxidermy demonstration in Nicola Hebson’s curiosity shop
4pm to 8pm: Art and crafts at Liz n Lil’s cafe
6pm to 7pm: Blackburn College fashion catwalk in the town hall square
6pm to 8pm: be:spoke, live music event in Rebound
7pm to 8pm: Sky Valley Mistress in the marquee
7.30pm: Blackburn People’s Choir, Holy Trinity Church
